Facilities and Services at Teaching Venues

Types of Classroom for Online Teaching (with Demos of Using Online Teaching Equipment)

In order to bridge the existing technological gaps in E-Learning and to improve and facilitate online teaching, the School set up Type I and Type II (a and b) technologically modernised classrooms in 2020.

For Type I Classrooms (Basic Classrooms), teachers can conduct ‘live’ lessons to students at remote sites. Required facilities include a set of dual monitors, a document camera and a webcam (monitor built-in or external one). Please refer to the following videos for demo of using online teaching equipment in Type I Classrooms.

For Type IIa Classrooms (Hybrid Classrooms), teachers can conduct ‘live’ lessons to students (some on-site and some at remote sites). Required facilities include a set of dual monitors, a document camera and HD PTZ camera for teachers, microphone pods for teachers and students. The PTZ (pan-tilt-zoom) camera captures the speaker’s video with a zooming feature. Wireless microphones, microphone pods and audio mixer system collect the speaker’s and classrooms students’ voices.

For Type IIb Classrooms (Distance Learning Rooms), teachers can conduct ‘live’ lessons to students (some on-site and some at other remote learning centres with the same setup). Required facilities include a set of dual monitors, a document camera, an HD PTZ camera for teachers, wireless microphones for teachers. The PTZ (pan-tiltzoom) camera captures the speaker’s video with zoom and auto-tracking features. Another PTZ camera will capture on-site learners’ images and a document camera will be installed for teachers to share visual images of physical objects or documents to learners. Please refer to the following video: User Guide of Type IIb Classroom Facilities.
